Naruto Shippuden is a direct sequel to the popular anime series Naruto, based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto. Set two-and-a-half years after the events of the original series, it follows a teenage Naruto Uzumaki as he returns to his village to rescue his friend Sasuke and battle a sinister ninja organization, the Akatsuki.
